Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I bathe my dog?

This really depends on several factors, such as coat type, lifestyle and health conditions. But as a general rule of thumb, about once a month. Let your nose and instincts guide you and if you sense your pup is feeling dry or itchy, it’s time for the suds!

Why does the pH of the shampoo matter?

Dog’s natural skin is more alkaline than us humans and it’s important to protect their pH to maintain their overall health. Using human shampoo, which tends to be more acidic, can lead to irritation and possible infection for dogs. Divine Canine’s formula is specifically formulated for canine pH levels and maintains their natural oils for healthy, vibrant hair and skin.

Does the shampoo contain synthetic fragrance?

No, Heavenly Dog Shampoo does not contain any synthetic fragrance. Although we humans may want our dogs to smell like flowers, linen, soap – anything but dog fur – dogs have a stronger sense of smell and are very sensitive to foreign scents. So, we avoid adding any fragrance that could disturb their olfaction. However, a dash of lavender oil is present for its therapeutic and antimicrobial properties, so we have some natural fragrance present in the formula.

Why does the shampoo contain botanical extracts?

Our carefully selected botanical extracts are gentle yet effective ingredients that deliver a surge of antioxidants. Antioxidants protect your dog’s skin by limiting the production of free radicals, which can damage skin cells. They also contain vitamins and have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties. Overall, our blend of botanical extracts plays a big role in delivering a naturally cleansing, calming and repairing treatment for your dog!

Why is there Provitamin B5 in the shampoo?

Provitamin B5 is one of the best ingredients for delivering moisture and shine to your dog’s body. It is commonly reserved for human beauty products due to its powerful ability to transform the look and feel of hair and skin. Aside from preventing dehydration and reducing Transepidermal Water Loss, it promotes skin cell repair, minimizes itching and helps with eczema as an anti-inflammatory.
